The deadline to be considered for the 2025-26 National Class of Youth Heart Ambassadors is March 1, 2025. Applications received after this date may be contacted to serve as local community youth heart ambassadors and will be considered for the following year's class of National Youth Heart Ambassadors.
Application Requirements: Submit a 1-2 minute video story and a signed media release by a parent or guardian.
Who Can Apply?
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ is looking for diverse youth ages 2-19 who are ready to share their story about the impact of heart disease or stroke either through a personal diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or are passionate about a heart healthy lifestyle.

Youth Heart Ambassador Opportunities
Youth Heart Ambassadors may be asked to share their story in emails, videos, newsletters, and social media posts, participate in exciting events that may include speaking opportunities and interviews, and other digital and/or print marketing materials.
Youth Heart Ambassadors will also work closely with the local ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ representative who will match their interests and comfort level with ambassador opportunities in their community.
What Happens Next?
All applicants will be contacted by the local AHA representative to determine ambassador opportunities in their community.
A selection committee will determine the new class of National Youth Heart Ambassadors and those applicants will be notified in late spring 2025.
Applications received after the March 1st deadline may be contacted to serve as local community youth heart ambassadors and will be considered for the following year's class of National Youth Heart Ambassadors.

What if my child is not affected by heart disease/stroke but still wants to apply?
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ looks forward to all applicants interested in helping advance our mission and spread awareness. We invite applications from youth who have also been affected by the diagnosis of a loved one or are passionate about a heart healthy lifestyle change.
If we applied last year, do we need to re-apply?
If you would like to be considered for a national opportunity, you should re-apply. Otherwise, you can continue to work with your AHA staff partner locally.
Do we need to participate in the Kids Heart Challenge/American Heart Challenge?

What should we say in the video?
Just be yourself! It doesn't need to be professional or fancy. We want to hear your story, see your personality, and understand what you're passionate about. Although parents are welcome to be in the video with their student, it's always helps to hear directly from the applicant as well.
